As she approached the shore, she realized that the beach had tiny green and the most delicate color pink grains of sand, all mixed together. They shone like minute shards of glass but they were incredibly soft to the touch. As she walked her feet sank comfortably down into tiny pockets in the sand. She watched as each footfall displaced little shelled creatures with seven legs which scurried in a yellow flurry into the ocean. “I guess they’re Aril crabs,” she said to herself.
“Actually,” said a voice behind her, “we call them cosigs.” She turned around with a start and she saw a boy exactly her age and height. As a matter of fact, he looked exactly like her, except for his purple hair and jade green eyes and of course his skin which was the color of bleached straw. But his features were exactly like Winterblue’s.
She stared at him in disbelief. He was soaking wet and as she watched, he slowly began to rise into the air. “I’m sorry if I startled you,” he said as he continued to rise higher and higher. “My name is JOvye” he had to shout now in order for her to hear him. “Well, ”Winterblue thought to herself, “I’m not going to stand here and shout at somebody floating away.” So she lay back on the warm sand and watched this strange boy as he sort of bobbed through the air – first higher than lower than higher again. Then he just fell down and down splashing into the ocean.
